Practical Projects
TZW sees itself as a link between research and practice, as implemented by water supply companies day by day. Both sides benefit from this: The research at TZW because it is practical and relevant and the water suppliers because they can experience the latest developments at first hand and help to shape them. Turnover from technical and scientific expertises on drinking water, the water cycle and other environmental aspects accounts for around 60 % of TZW's total annual revenue. To provide an overview of what such partnerships look like, a few selected examples of successful projects with practice partners are presented here. If you are interested, please get in touch with the contact persons for further information.
What do we offer?
Technology concepts
The experts at TZW work on all issues relating to drinking water treatment on the basis of scientific correlations and taking into account operational aspects and technical regulations. In this way, economically viable solutions with a high degree of supply security are created. The development of new technologies, the adaptation and optimisation of existing treatment plants and processes as well as current drinking water supply concepts are of particular importance.

Resource protection
The sustainable protection of water resources is the first pillar in the multi-barrier system for a safe drinking water supply. Our expertise lies primarily in the management of hazards and risks in water catchment areas. This applies to groundwater and spring water as well as flowing water, bank filtrate or lakes and reservoirs, even under special conditions.

Water distribution
One of the main objectives of water supply is to provide drinking water of impeccable quality. This places high demands on the operation of the drinking water network. Despite all efforts, quality changes in water distribution cannot be completely ruled out. Targeted measures are required to control and eliminate anomalies, which often require detailed knowledge of the complex processes taking place in the distribution system. TZW is intensively involved in the clarification of these processes, using specific investigation methods and approaches.

Digitalisation
The digital transformation is currently taking place in all areas of public drinking water supply. TZW's expertise lies in solving complex issues and problems faced by water supply companies. This is done either through direct technical support for companies or as part of practical research projects. All areas of drinking water supply - from resource protection to water extraction, treatment and distribution - are taken into consideration. Digitalisation nowadays plays a decisive role in all of these process steps.
